 Mandate of the Laboratory:

 Our Research Center at INTI voluntarily participates in technical  
 assistance and training laboratories in the residue pesticide  
 analysis, methods validation and quality assurance of results.
 The laboratory also contributes to the analysis of pesticide residues  
 in samples provide by private companies and, on the other hand,
 food led by ISCAMEN (Institute of Quality and Sanity Mendoza), a
 government institution responsible for monitoring and controlling  
 of pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables marketed in the
 province.

 Role in the farm-to-fork chain:

 Analysis of pesticide residues in fruits, vegetables and their
 industrial products and verification of compliance with national
 regulation.

 2004 to 2009. The laboratory was delayed in the replacement of  
 equipment out of service, and therefore, the Argentine  
 Accreditation Agency (OAA) decided to cancel the techniques
 accredited. Currently we are in the process of re-accreditation.

 Mandate of the Laboratory:

 To provide a GMO detection services in samples of grains, seeds,   processed foods, to different external or internal customers to INTA in   accordance with regulatory requirements or market. To train to   national and international laboratories in different methodologies for   the detection of GMOs, through personal training and specific   courses. To develop methodologies to detect new events according     to  the lawsuits filed by regulations or market. To advise the public   interested in the various issues related to GMOs, their regulation and   methodologies for detection.
 To ensure the quality of the results and continuous improvement of   the processes by meeting the requirements of the ISO 17025.

 Role in the farm-to-fork chain:

 Argentina is one of the countries with the highest adoption of   genetically modified crops worldwide representing 20% of the area   planted to these crops.
 Due to the importance of Argentina as agroexporter country and the   requirement in some countries in the identification of  genetically   modified crops and their derivatives was necessary to develop new   and rigorous analytical methods designed to meet the segregation   and traceability programs required for such products.
 Analyses are performed for different agroexport companies,   agricultural producers, food manufacturers, certification bodies,   inspection bodies and inspection, research institutes, among others.

 Mandate of the Laboratory:

 Our Dairy Research Center at INTI, acts in the voluntary field   giving technical assistance and training to laboratories in the
 residue /pesticide analysis, method validation, quality assurance of the
 results. We also contribute with the National Monitoring
 Programme of our country.

 Role in the farm-to-fork chain:

 To monitor pesticide residues in dairy products and checking
 compliance with the regulation.

 National Reference Laboratory:

 The food control system in Argentina is responsibility of SENASA
 Servicio Nacional de Sanidad Alimentaria, under the authority of   the Agriculture Ministry. They authorize laboratories in the country   to perform the national monitoring program , those laboratories   belong to a network. We are authorized by the national regulation   body (SENASA) to perform some residue analysis (antibiotics,   pesticides). 

 On the other hand we give technical assistance to the other
 laboratories or this network in our metrological role (providing
 proficiency tests,  training, etc). One of the laboratories of the
 Dairy Research Center is the national reference laboratory for milk
 composition analysis.

 Type of contaminants analysed:

 Organochlorine and organophosphorous pesticides in foods and
 environmental samples. Carbamates and pyretroids in foods.
